The 492nd deployed to Hill Air Force Base, Utah for the Air-to-Ground Weapons System Evaluation Program  mission commonly known as Combat Hammer.  The GBU-28 was designed and first used during the Perisan Gulf War in 1991.  It is used to destroy deeply-buried and extremely-harened targets such as bunkers and undergorund command centers.
