visualintel > Arabian Gulf (May 27, 2006) -- Aviation Ordnanceman Airman William Gunter-Stockman, of Showlow, Ariz., laughs at a joke as he and other members of Strike Fighter Squadron One One Three (VFA-113) clean the pylon of an F/A-18C Hornet in the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan's (CVN 76) hangar bay.  Ronald Reagan and Carrier Air Wing One Four (CVW-14) are currently deployed as part of a routine rotation of U.S. maritime forces in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, as well as conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in the region. MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts in regional nations. MSO deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material. ARABIAN SEA (July 7, 2009) An F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to the Fighting Redcocks from Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 22, launches off the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan utilizes four catapults to help increase efficiency and space management during flight operations. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
