The UH-60 Black Hawk is a four-bladed, twin-engine, medium-lift utility helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft. The UH-60A entered service with the Army in 1979 replacing UH-1 Iroquois as the Army's tactical transport helicopter. visualintel > During an early morning start, an orange glow from the sun fills the sky as a team of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from Company B, 3rd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad, depart Camp Taji Airfield, Iraq, Aug. 18. The aircrews are flying to a training area were they will be conducting training with Iraqi army soldiers.
