Members of the 1st Armored Division, 4-27th Field Artillery Regiment conduct patrols just south of Baghdad on 23 April 2004. The patrols were conducted to seize unlawful weapons and gather information from locals about IEDs in the area. Family members waved to the soldiers as they passed by and searched through their homes for weapons.
