Soldiers of the Headquarters Headquarters Battery, 2-3 Field Artillery (FA) on dismounted patrol in central Baghdad search the shoreline of the Tigris River for Iraqi insurgents. This patrol is in response to ongoing mortar attacks against the 2-3 FA Forward Operations Base. The soldiers are in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). OIF is the multinational coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
