An Afghan Security Forces soldier fires a 75mm recoilless rifle during a live-fire exercise atop a ridgeline 1500 feet above the Pesh Valley while a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant looks on.  Green Berets from the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan are training AfghanistanÕs indigenous forces to provide for their nationÕs internal defense against insurgency and lawlessness and to protect their newly formed government from subversion.  Special Forces in the region have trained the ASF to use weapons left behind from the Soviet and Taliban eras.
